Fete de St Jean

As night falls on June 23rd villages in the Pyrenees light the fire for the fete de St Jean. In the Pyrenees Orientales the flame is brought down by runners from the summit of Canigou and taken to all the villages. The bravest leap the fire. Everyone else will dance the sardana, the stately Catalan dance. And eat sausages.
